Moore County Sanders Family Reunion

The Sanders Family Reunion is held annually the 3rd Sunday of September at the Browns Chapel Churchin Moore County near Spies, N.C. (directions). It is held right after the Sunday service in the Fellowship Hall (shown on the right of the Chapel) and a 'potluck' lunch is served.

I attended my first reunion in 2002 and didn't expect a large attendance. I was surprised that well over a hundred people were there. I met many of my relatives who were descended from my gggf Rev. Hardy Sanders. And I met quite a few Sanders family genealogy researchers who were quite willing to share the information they had compiled. I still stay in touch with many who have email.

I plan to attend every year that I am able, and hope to bring my children and grand-children to the reunion to see the church where some of their ancestors preached and where many are buried.
