The name Isham has it origins in 11th century in Northamptonshire (Central England) along the River Ise.  It was originally a surname meaning 'from a small village on the River Ise'. It's derivation was from the the River "Ise" and the Saxon word 'Ham', meaning a small village. The first recorded use of the name Isham dates back to 1049.
